WEEK 47: I finally became a Hobbit..and other important things!

me, running through the shire---

"I'M GOING ON AN ADVENTURE!!!"

Yes folks. I finally made it. From the second I got my mission call people were telling me about Hobbiton. It lived up to its fame. It felt so magical to be there with my companion. Everything was so detailed and SO CUTE. I think door-knocking would be even better if all the doors were hobbit holes. I'd like to teach some hobbits. Our tour guide, Sonny, was hilarious and I laughed so hard. I want to live in the shire. Pictures below :)

Highlight events because I don't have a lot of time to write:

-We have a new mission President! President Erekson and his wife did a mini zone conference for us when they arrived and we were able to meet them! I am very excited for all of the plans and his vision for the mission. He is a very tall, gentle, smiling, funny giant. He and his wife are from Idaho.

-Alivia was baptized!! We were able to sing at her baptism and it was such a sweet experience. Her family-the Wihongi's- have been coming back to church and we just love them so much! We are so happy for her.

-thought- I have learned that we have to commit, and recommit ourselves to the gospel consistently. Yes, we can have wonderful experiences, but we cannot rely simply on testimony pieces of the past. I have learned that the journey is much more joyful and more what God intends it to be if we are expanding the borders of our faith, constantly. Helaman 3:35
35 Nevertheless they did afast and bpray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their chumility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the dpurifying and the esanctificationof their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their fyielding their hearts unto God.

yielding your heart to God isn't always easy to do, but it is always worth it.

I love you all and pray for you, Heavenly Father is aware of each moment, and blessing, and trial in your life. Don't ever forget that.

Arohanui,
Sister Barker
